An artificial GPU shortage is the exact excuse Nvidia needs to justify price gouging it's customers. They say this right before a new GPU series launch when customer interest is at an all time high. Interesting timing huh?

I've got a 7900 XTX in my system, my girlfriend has a 7800XT, and I built my buddy a system with a 6650XT that I used in my HTPC. I've never had any issues with any of them. I wish AMD could shake the stigma they gained in the rougher years. They've had some great cards in the last 2 generations

"running out" of GPUs is 100% a marketing tactic. They say that they're running out to get you to buy up the 40 series at high prices so that they don't have to sell them at discounted prices when the 50 series comes out. It's all a money making scheme because people (for whatever reason) don't want to buy AMD cards in spite of them being very good and having more VRAM.

Nvidia: Rise GPU prices due to shortage and AI and ignoring the Low/Mid Range market

AMD: locking up their top IGPU to the higher tier expensive Ryzens making no sense to use the APU and thier Low/Midrange 7000 series GPU is priced only $50 to $100 cheaper than Nvidia

Intel: Just Intel having an ass CPU performance and efficiency and their GPU hasn't done anything to shake AMD and Nvidia

The thing about gaming laptops is that they can achieve significantly more TOPS than any NPU, they also do so at significantly more power and in a device that runs on battery, that completely changes the use-case of the device. As a self-admitted Apple shill, this is something that shouldn't even need explaining to you as this is something that the Macbook (Air) has been the best for quite some time now.

And yet the micro center in Indianapolis has over 25 each of 4070ti S, 4080 S, and over 15 4090's. Very few 7900 xtx's.

My Ryzen 5 5500 and Asrock B450M Steel Legend died 3 days ago. I bought today an Intel Core I5 12400F(138 dollars) and Gigabyte GA-B760M DDR4 motherboard(160 dollars) for 298 dollars(in South Africa) including shipping cost. The Ryzen 5 5600(166 dollars)(with the black Friday deal its 138 dollars) and mobo cost 100 dollars more than the I5 and mobo combo. Luckily I still have my 4X8GB Kingston Fury Beast DDR4 3200MT/S CL16 ram and works on intel and amd.

Upgraded to a 4070 Ti this summer, so I'll probably get a 70 series card in the future instead of one right away.

The RTX 40 and 50 series is not worth it right now, and for budget gamers the 4060 is the only good option, thats why AMD has a lot of good options and cheap ones in the RX 6000 and 7000 series.
