Yonex Ezone 2025 Review (First Impressions)

The new Yonex Ezone 2025 is here. I got to try it for a couple of hours when I visited Tennis Warehouse HQ in San Luis Obispo, CA. In this review, I deal with my first impressions, go through the different technologies of the new Ezone and other racquets in the Ezone family. The bold cosmetic is seemingly a polarizing factor and I am keen to hear in the comments if this is a deal-breaker or not.

I am really surprised that manufacturers don't quickly send you their new racquets to review. You are one of the most respected reviewers out there.

One thing to consider with the color change here is that this hyper bright blue makes the racquet easily identifiable on tv, yes, but also on rec courts...My guess is you'll be able to spot this racquet from 4 or 5 courts away. The darker and more subtle colors are more tasteful, but maybe more easily dismissed.

The comments around the color remind me why nearly every car on the road is some shade of greige. I love bright colors on my tennis gear, and this one strikes the right tone for sure. I used an Ezone from the previous generation and felt it was a bit too stiff for my liking, so hearing this new model is even stiffer may make it a non-starter. Definitely a demo I'm looking forward to, though. Thanks for your commentary!

Yonex should make it up to you for not providing a demo... they should put out a blacked out 16x20 version, and call it the Jonax.

Variety is the spice of life. Blacked out and gloss racquets are certainly dramatic and chic, but they are also staid and nondescript. Other color-ways inject some personality and life to frames, especially if they are outside the standard fare of non-graduated flat reds and blues and are not overly garish. Wilson‘s clever and soothing iridescent and metallic colors have been a breath of fresh air. While some of Head‘s loud and harsh fluorescent finishes have been less pleasing to the eye. And while I prefer gloss, matte finishes wear better and stay newer looking longer than gloss. I think Yonex has done a good job with these royal blue Ezones and the mint green Percepts. Distinctive and still dignified in my opinion.

this is THE BEST TENNIS RAQUET on tour. Im regreting for switching from wilson to yonex so F late. Im 37 yrs old and been playing with wilson for almost 15 yrs. i started to play with the ezone 98 10 months ago, and its a huge power raquet.
