Still one of my favorite comedies of all time. Step brothers, 40 yr old virgin, then American pie 1. My dad took me to see it when I was like 14 and we were both practically in tears

At 6:58 the anchorman asks "Do you remember when you first heard him (Buddy Holly) on the radio?". But McLean's answer was about when McLean first heard _his own song_ - American Pie - on the radio. The anchormen never bothered to pursue his own question. The female anchorperson seemed oblivious to the glaring miscommunication.

I had McClean's first album with "Castles in the Air" on it, before all the hoopla. when "American Pie" came out and became our senior year anthem, I thought i was pretty cool and tried to tell everybody in high school about his previous work and how I was an original fan but it seemed to just go over everybody's heads and they seemed to totally ignore feel somewhat vindicated because those song's on the first album did re-surface and it's nice even now he mentions "Castles in the Air" which is my favorite of
