I am Turkish 🇹🇷 I was born in a Muslim family. I decided to read the Bible 1 year ago. From that day on, my love and faith in Jesus Christ increased day by day. I will be baptized in 1 month. I felt happy and wanted to share it.

The path to holiness is very sobering: You will wake up, every day, for the rest of your life, completely dependent upon God as you prepare yourself--surrounding yourself with prayer--for yet another day of spiritual warfare. But, you are never fighting alone, unless you choose to.

The more I gain ground against certain sins, the more I become aware of others I hadn’t been aware of.

Father Mike - Our Lord (through you) has just saved my life with this message. I am at the bottom of the stairs of life and more broken than ever. Never have I been more wretched. I cannot seem to let go of my sins

St Augustine also had a mother, St Monica, who prayed for him ceaselessly. St Monica, one of the few saints that was a wife and mother, taught me that our prayers for others make a difference. 🙏🏼 ❤

Thank you, Father, I feel nearly crushed under the weight of my brokenness and inability to live my life well. So full of anxiety to a degree that isn't sustainable. Thank you for directing me to my Lord even while I feel like I'm at the bottom of a pit.

My husband were recently scammed in a huge way and I was so angry that someone could do this that I went into a tailspin of rage. The angrier I got the more out of control things got. Thank God I went to confession in the midst of this and the priest told me to pray for the people that scammed us. This broke cycle of rage I was in. I realized that I was so broken and wondered how I was ever gonna become holy in God‘s eyes. I was in the pit with no way out and realized that I was utterly helpless and unable to fix things on my own.

This is why we need heroic stories. The rise and fall and rise again of heroes prepares us for the same journey as a saint.

During a homily at weekday mass, a priest at my church said “ Just because we put on the collar doesn’t mean it’s smooth sailing. We are still tempted just as everyone else.” That was such a profound message to me, and I recall it every time when I struggle with sin. God gave that to me and I hope that brings comfort to others as well.

The idea that holiness is this smooth journey is such a myth. It’s about trusting God more in the chaos. Who’s with me? 🙌

I had this same "epiphany, " on Tuesday I started to cry, because I realised "Holiness" is not going to be easy and I will always have a venial sin to work on even though my temptations for mortal sins have been rooted out by the rosary.

This is why the road is wide and will lead to destruction in my story because I will give up on the narrow path because it is too hard to achieve.

I will be working on rooting out my venial sins until the day I die, and I thought maybe might not be as committed as I thought I was.

But, what's impossible for man is possible for God.

Christ Is King

I went through this exactly. I thought when I ended my relationship things would get better. But now I know that I’m prideful that I thought that was all that was keeping me from holiness
