Some advice i got a few years ago and changed my life was "before buying any piece of clothing, imagine 3 outfits you can create with that piece + the clothes you already own"
That way you know the piece will add to your closet and expand your options instead of limiting them

Love the concept of color scheming a wardrobe. I’ve been doing that for years! I never buy anything unless it fits into my color scheme and works with something I already have.
I am ignoring this year’s big colors because earth tones don’t look good on me. I need jewel tones with my skin and hair. Sure, I’m less “trendy, ” but I also don’t look sick and washed out.
