Joe would be the one true Podcast Messiah if he had Dylan on the show

The thing about Bob Dylan is that he has this aura of someone you can't put your finger on, that you can't quite figure out. Which makes him more alluring and interesting. And the best thing is, rationally you know he has to do it on purpose at least to a degree, but you're never entirely sure, because Dylan himself has never burst the bubble around him. And he has kept up appearances for decades now.

He's like the character described in the movie Prestige - the old man who put up an act his whole life to sell the magic trick he was doing on stage. Dylan is probably unparalleled in the world in terms of creating an image of someone truly special and elusive. He can't be rivaled in this by ANYONE.

Dylan is THE quintessential artist. The best lyricist of all time.

Love it. Neil Young was the same way. Heard somewhere for the entire “tonight’s the night” tour he sang the whole album front to back when people expected to him to play his popular songs from harvest. After getting boo’ed he Told em if you listen to these songs I’ll get to playin some old ones. And as soon as he finished the album he would say “ok here’s somthin you’ve all heard before” and the whole crowd would go crazy thinking he would play his hits finally. But instead he just started the album he just played over again and watched everyone walk out. Every night. Savage lol.

Edward Norton nailed it about Bob Dylan. Bob is a true Music Legend. A true puck rocker.

First heard Dylan when I was 17 and he was 21 and he sounded to me as old as he is in 2021. The song and the sound seemed full of the wisdom and experience of a lifetime. Then I saw his first album cover and he looked no more than 15. He has never stopped being that extraordinary.

Bob Dylan's voice is a million times more badass than pretty much any punk or metal singer.

I'm so glad somebody brought it up and said it. That was exactly what I was thinking when I watched Bob Dylan early interviews. He was so wise for his age in 21-23 and truly didn't care about interviews, fame and glory

Dylan truly was a workhorse in young years. He probably threw away more songs than he put on his first 6 records

I have always loved Ed Norton, and his brilliant portrayal of how far ahead of everyone at age 20 Dylan was is brilliant and a treat to hear. Thanks Ed Norton,

Edward gets it. Been to many Dylan concerts. Some great some awful. He is an artist and he is there for himself and not the audience. He will do what he does and you are welcome to watch and listen. He speaks for no one but himself. To quote Bob "...they wanted me to be a part of some kind of trip they were on. I don't think so ". That is integrity - that is honesty - that is BALLS . Lyrical genius and an artists commitment to follow his muse. Love the guy.

Dylan was playing the "Long Game" from an early age. His fortuitous "motorcycle accident" was his ruse to have kids and live a normal life. He knew he would die otherwise. As Joplin, Jimi, Jim and others proved. He is one of a kind. I am endlessly fascinated by the man.
