Bosch engineers really need to improve the design of the rinse aid dispenser, it should be larger and include a window to indicate when it needs to be refilled.

For those who are filling it, it takes about 1/4 of the bottle (150-175ml), keep pouring until you reach the line, the machine is not broken.

The rinse aid also runs out of our compartment as I pour it. The dishwasher is barely 2 weeks old. It dries beautifully without it and the dishes and silverware look amazing so I’m going to ignore it and spare the environment the additional chemicals. We love love our super quiet SHP88 w the little floor info stamp light showing time remaining and what it’s doing. Cool.

Why wipe it up if it spills? Wont it just wash away in the wash ?

You’d think you people would design a way to refill this without having to crouch down to the ground and end up spilling 10-20% of it every time. Complete engineering failure.

Problem with Rinse Aid?
1.When you're adding rinse aid make sure that your door is fully open and flat, and yes it takes A LOT since it spreads within the door. it'll take nearly a bottle in some cases...
2. You won't have to add rinse aid again for several loads, maybe after your 5th.
3. When pouring your rinse aid make sure to pour it straight down the middle and NOT in this little overflow holes that are on the side.. this is painfully difficult.. shoot it right in the middle and it will fill up about half of inch. If you pour too much like in this video it's going to go into the overflow holes.

So in other words try to pour it in the deepest pocket that you see, it does take a ton of the fluid but it'll last a long time. Good 🤞

Pro tip: It's easier to dispense rinse aid without spilling it from a bottle that is half empty. So when you open a new bottle of rinse aid, first, pour half of the liquid into the old, empty bottle. And then dispense the rinse aid as shown in this video.

i agree with everyone who posted to say that the rinse aid just runs out as we pour. we have tried various things to change how we add but same result. aparently this is a malfunction with bosch. I do like how quiet the machine is, and dishes do come out clean, but probably will stop using the rinse aid when it runs out because it is a hassle.

Disappointing to see that this video is 5 years old, and I'm here in 2023 looking into the same rinse aid filling issue on a newly purchased Bosch machine.

I purchased a Bosch dishwasher back in 2014 and really like it. Im puzzled though, i would like to start adding rinse aid to my wash and the instructions and this video say to fill to max but when i squirt my rinse aid in, it seems to keep going and going with no maximum amount to say its full. i could squirt the whole bottle in if i wanted to as the liquid just keeps going in. How do i know how much is enough ?? And why on this video does it show quite clearly that u have squeezed enough rinse aid in where as mine doesnt?

My rinse aid runs out as fast as I put it in the oval receptacle... and I waste an awful lot because it doesn't fill up the hole it runs right down the inside door. I have a new dishwasher...well several months old it has the three tiers and I love it ..it does a beautiful job..my only problem is filling the rinse agent.

My dishwasher barely holds 2 ounces; I am refilling it constantly- my daughter has a Bosch dishwasher also and she refills once every 2-3 weeks! What’s the problem??

I noticed there the rinse agent ran out also that is what happens to mine and she didn't spill any on the outside because I watched carefully as to how she did it..but  mine doesn't even hold the liquid like that one did   it just doesn't fill up at all, it runs right through...this has happened from the time I got the dishwasher several months ago..

I love my Bosch because it is quiet and does a good job getting my dishes clean - EXCEPT my glasses started getting all cloudy. I was told I should use rinse agent to fix that, but when I pour my rinse agent in the container as shown on the video, it never fills - it just keeps running through, not filling and stopping with a tablespoon of rinse like it shows on the video. Wha the heck? I have given up using rinse agent. I am buying new glasses and never putting my good glassware into the Bosch.

Question: When adding rinse aid, do I need to fill it just 1 time to the max line and let it drain down, or keep filling it to max, let it drain down repeatedly until it stays level at the max line?

I fill the rinse aid dispenser as shown, but I have a constant warning light that the rinse aid is empty. How do I reset this or is there a malfunction?

Liquid won’t stay in there. It leaked out.

Guys if your Bosch dishwasher stop in 30min or 40min and has error code E25 and your touch pad is asking for rinse aid that’s your problem and if you do have rinse aid the check your drain hose that’s is connected to your garbage disposal and make sure is not on the floor which needs to be lopping up and if that’s okay checker your filter and if it’s clean call for service which you might have a bad drain pump
