So this pool was left for around 8 years since it was last used!! The new customers had only moved in around 3 months ago and wanted to get it up and running again! I took some under water footage with a go pro and it looks amazing to be honest!!! But it had to go!! Check it out and let me know what you think!! @poolboyb4nners helped me on this one! Thank you for the help it was much needed!

The fact that a COMPLETE ecosystem was made in that pool is mind blowing.

The underwater shot was amazing, from a swamp to a pool.... just so satisfying!

You're probably correct in saying that it might have its own ecosystem. That is clear, not murky, meaning something in there is filtering the water.

The house my wife and I bought a few years ago had an abandoned pool. Had a snapping turtle, a red ear slider, and an unknown amount of frogs and tadpoles. I rehomed the slider to my fishing pond and moved as many frogs as I could to that area as well. The snapper went to a friend's pond. We filled it in at that point.

1:13 I outright started appreciating on how beautiful nature can turn a misrble pool into a green ecosystem that i personally want to live in.

To be honest, for 8 years the tiles were surprisingly clean.

Would have liked to have seen the whole process, like the tilling and heater set up maybe could have done a part 2 or even 3

I went the other way. We had a drought, so couldn't fill the pool. I added plants and within 4 days dragonflies were mating and laying eggs. Next added 12 x galaxias and 10 x tilapia (indigenous species). Haven't added anything since except occasionally a bread slice to watch the feeding frenzy - there are now a lot of fish. And it's a thriving ecosystem - no chemicals, no electricity, no effort, and it looks great. Also fun to occasionally catch some of the occupants, especially for the youngsters. The fish, dragonfly larvae and water striders ensure there are no mosquitos, and it's a really relaxing place to sit and take a nature break during the day (I work from home). If I ever sell and the new owner wants a pool? Drain it into bladders, relocate the fish (there's a dam just down the road), repaint with fibreglass, and refill from the sterilized bladders. Much nicer as a natural pond, tho'. And I can still take a dip - it's like swimming in a mountain pool...

It looks beautiful when he puts the cam under water.

“It’s got its own ecosystem down here” 😂😂

I find it quite fascinating what nature does in only 8 years. It's taken the whole thing back in a relatively short amount of time. Imagine mankind is gone for 100 years. What would it look like then?

I love how the surroundings were clean unlike other transformations 💀

Even the dog is like, “You sure you want to go in there Man?”

It's so fascinating how nature can take back over even a chlorinated pool and see all this amazing growth in the water.

Now if this was Florida you would have found a gator in that pool.

The first home I bought had a pool that looked like that. I debated whether to fill it in or repair it. Spent about 10 grand having it repaired and refurbished.
The kids loved it. Got quite a bit of equity out of that house when we sold it 12 years later.

Personally, if I had a pool that has advanced to that level of ecosystem, I'd keep it like that. Those underwater shots were incredible.

That is not a pool, it's a scientific environmental experiment. It looks like a sci-fi horror movie in there. 😷 Good on you for taking that on. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

It honestly looks amazing, how nature does it’s thing “naturally”
