Ptolemaida is a city in Macedonia, seat of the Municipality of Eordaia in the Regional Unit of Kozani in Western Macedonia. It is about 28 kilometers from Kozani and is the second largest city in terms of population in the Region of Western Macedonia, with a population of 45000 inhabitants . Since the 1960s, the GR-3/E65 National Road bypasses the town to the east.
