Egor Demin isn't what he is cracked up to be. The game was lost on his turnovers, missed 3s, and bad defense. It was also lost on people not dunking the ball and instead trying to shoot a two foot shot with defense all around them. Missed buckets. at the rim was critical. This season is going to get long and people better get used to the idea of NIT unless they start hitting 3s and let Egor come in off the bench.

This BYU team has zero fundamentals. I get the young players are still trying to adjust to the college level but even the veterans are playing poorly. No boxing out on rebounds, no moving around to get open on offense, bafflingly bad free throw shooting. The free throws were especially big since we missed 9 and lost by 5. I know it’s KY’s first year but where are the adjustments? Why still run pick and roll at the top of the key when teams have figured out that double teaming the point will completely disrupt the offense? Why still run zone defense and traps when we have no closing speed to get back to the open guys? Why is everyone still just standing around on both sides of the floor? Tech’s a good program and played a great, physical game but the fundamentals are what win you these kinds of games and this Cougar team has absolutely no focus on those. Can’t play with an NBA style when your opponents are allowed to actually play physical in college
