Hi Ryan, thanks for your lession, but I don't think it works better then the built in solution in LR.
Choose Library / Previews / Discard Smart Previews

As a general rule, it is bad advice to delete something like this at the file level. It is always better to allow the application to delete data/previews etc as there are often links to other data which are not obvious in the Finder/Explorer.
This may well cause no problems at all in Lightroom but it is definitely better done by the application, in this case (as Langmedia says), by going to library/previews/discard smart previews

So I don't have a Smart Preview file. I haven't ever worked using that feature. What would you do if your preview catalog is 31.17GB???

6 minutes for showing us how to delete a file is much time. Try to make your infos shorter.
To delete files directly is not the way we should do. Is there no way to delete these dng's in LR?

Oh my gosh, yes.. mine is 74gs. This terrifies me to delete anything with LR but it needs to be done.
