This is currently in pre-order and discounted $75 with coupon code in the description. I am hearing these are already shipping out for the earlier pre-orders so you'll probably want to get in the pre-order line and take advantage of the discount. Let me know if there is anything specific you didn't see in the review and I can include it in the next video.

I love that it's almost half the cost of the Air yet still gets useable footage @ 4K 30fps. Will save up for this one. Thanks for the comprehensive review. I am SOLD!

Pretty impressive for that price. I flew the Mi 4K a fair bit and this is just about as good and smaller overall too.

This is one of the very good and well done reviews I've seen of this drone. Quick question, from time to time I see image drag when you switch to the drone camera view? What is that? Is that what you actually see on your phone when flying the drone or is that what translates when posting this video? An example of this is at the 15:04 mark, towards the bottom

Great video! Thank you for sharing all the preloads on the app. I am looking at getting a drone for cool footage. I was looking at this and looking at the DJI Mavic Air, and the Spark. The Fimi seems to do pretty good for half the price. Out of the 3 what would recommend?

I'd like to get your advice. I'm looking to get into the drone hobby. Right now I have little flying experience (a few hours worth). Ultimately I'd like to own a drone that can do smooth cinematography type video (not for professional purposes but looks professional). There is nothing driving that need (no gig dependent on it, etc)...it's just a personal interest.

I recently purchased a Tello (several weeks ago) as a Trainer drone (to learn how to fly). By the time I purchased all of the accessories (extra batteries, controller, wifi extender, case, multi-battery charger, etc) I realized it added up to just over $200 (surprisingly) for a Toy drone. And while the Tello is a great little drone it obviously won't satisfy my longer term goals. (Too small...can't fly well in any wind to speak of, camera is fixed, etc.)

First, so my question/dilemma is whether I'd just be better off returning my Tello and all of the accessories and putting that $200+ towards the purchase of a drone that will ultimately be capable of doing what I want to do. My concern is if I did that I'd be learning to fly with a much more expensive drone. Maybe that would be perfectly fine if I just fly with caution? Or would overly cautious flying just hinder learning the flight skills I need. What are your thoughts? Another alternative I've considered is returning the Tello and just getting a cheapo "learner" drone for $50 and after I've "mastered" flying it then purchase a drone that will satisfy my long term objectives.

Second, given my goals (cinematography capable drone) which drone would you recommend. I'm a value shopper. For me that means that if I can get a drone that does 85% of what a DJI product can do but for 50% or less of the price, I'd go with the DJI alternative. It seems that FINALLY there are a couple of these "value" drones in the market today, namely the Fimi X8 and the Hubsan Zino (and maybe the Fimi A3..if you're comparing with the DJI spark). So with all of this in mind given the capabilities of the X8 and Zino which drone do you think is the best value and which one would you purchase?

Of the drones with 3-axis gimbals here are my observations abased on reviews and on paper comparisons.

Fimi x8 - super solid and high quality drone, more expensive than Zino but camera/gimbel quality is DJI like. Flight times are great...25mins +, Lots of great intelligent flight modes, Batteries are DJI in price... $85! :-(

Hubsan Zino - lowest priced 4K drone, 3-axis gimbal drone, Flight stability is not as good as x8 (e.g., no optical flow), early release had a lot of issues (stability, tended to not fly straight, laggy response, gimbal would wig out, etc. etc), camera/gimbel quality is much less than X8, flight time of Zino is less but batteries are MUCH cheaper ($40) making the overall cost for a Zino "solution" that much lower than X8. Not sure if the initial Zino problems are indicative of the overall quality of the Zino and what I'll continue to see over time.

Your thoughts about X8 vs Zino?

Third, do you think the Fimi A3 would allow me do "professional looking" cinematography assuming my flight skills and composition skills are pretty good. I've watched some of your A3 review videos and the A3 seemed to take pretty professional looking video despite it's limitations (only 2-axis gimbel with EIS)? It seems like it could be a viable option for me as a first drone as it does seems to offer very good video capabililty. Your thoughts?

My first choice of these 3 drones (X8, Zino, and A3) if price were not a consideration would be the Fimi X8. It seems like the best overall value. However, as good of a value as it is (and I have a coupon for $399 for the "base" configuration) the cost does start to add up pretty quickly when you purchase what I call a "complete fly package" (couple of extra batteries, extra set of props, carrying case, multi-port charger). For the X8 that comes in about $585. If I stepped down to the Fimi A3 I could get a similar "complete fly package" for around $350. So that's $235 less than the X8...pretty significant $.

Granted I could probably get by with just 2 batteries with the Fimi X8 given it's 25 min flight time so that would bring it down the initial X8 purchase to $500. And if I were to forego the case for the X8 I could reduce the initial cost to $480....now reducing the difference to only $130. So assuming I wanted to purchase a "video capable" drone as my first drone would it be worth it to go with the Fimi X8 vs the A3 as my first drone?

But back to the level question of what should I buy as my first drone. I could see two options.

1) Ditch the $200 Tello package and put that $200 towards a "professional-ish video drone" right off the bat and just fly it cautiously until my flying skills are up to snuff?
---- And if I were to go with this option (#1)...which drone would you suggest I go with? Fimi X8, Fimi A3 or Hubsan Zino? Or is there another (minimum 2-axis gimbal with EIS) that I should look at?

2) Ditch the Tello and just buy a inexpensive ($50) drone to hone my flying skills and delay the purchase of a more professional drone for now until my flight skills are the other professional drones will always be there..and there constantly getting better so there's no rush to buy one now.

Love to hear your thoughts what you think might make the most sense as a first drone given my longer term interest.

Thanks in advance.

Another great video, thanks!
What a nice sports complex you have there, all those soccer fields and baseball diamonds, just great for flying! Living here in Japan, not much open space like that unfortunately. Again, thanks for the nice vid!

Great stuff man! I'd like to see how waypoint flight works with multiple poi's preprogrammed into its route. Really cool if you wanna do a scripted aerial shot I think.

Do you need to use an app tool use the drone? If so, which is it? I'm having a hard time finding this out. TIA
