Google Pixel 7 Event: New Watch, Phones, and a Tablet!?

Google had its Google Event yesterday and Marques and David were there in person to check everything out. As soon as they got back they sat down with Andrew to talk about the event as a whole and first impressions on everything that was announced (right after talking about the fact that Marques can edit tweets). Then they discuss the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro, the new Pixel Watch, and the Pixel Tablet which Andrew and David are super hyped about. Finally, we round it all up with some Google trivia. There's a lot to get through but it's a fun one!

I was finally invited to join the Pixel Super Fans this year and was able to watch the insider event. So excited about where the Pixel Portfolio is headed!

The tablet dock is the future--the next step is to basically givee the Pixel stand a similar speaker/function. So you come home and toss your tablet/phone on their respecive stands and it automatically converts your screens into smart home devices and charges then at the same time. Pull them off and your in mobile mode. The stand though has to function like a normal smart speaker when the screen isn't attached (its not clear if that will be the case with the tablet stand).

I'm so happy they brought the Pixel 3 wide angle selfie, face unlock and made the Pro less curved, I feel like they really listened to customer feedback. But i agree the Pro price difference is kind of a hard pill to swallow.

Google legally can't merge Fitbit data into Google Fit as conditions of the purchase of Fitbit. I do wonder if they have the ability to move Google Fit data over to Fitbit and then go forward as Google Fitbit, then eventually change the name back to Google Fit.

I went with Pixel 7 Pro. This is my first Pixel. Also picked up the watch and buds. The watch tipped me over from the full Samsung product line up of phone, watch, and buds. I'm happy to spend the extra $300 for the tele lense for watching kids sports and nature watching. Re: the watch, I totally miss the Moto 360. Why didn't Rick just upgrade the internals!?

Very excited where Google are going. Have ordered my first Pixel phone ( Pixel 7 Pro in Snow) and I’ve a feeling my eco system will be changing from iOS over the next year or so. The pixel watch came free with the purchase and I purchased the Pixel Buds Pro. Looking forward to the Google Tablet when it comes out.

As a person interested in photography, the telephoto features on the 7 pro, if done about perfectly, could be awesome. I don't find myself using ultrawide other than for astrophotography, and telephoto just allows you to see things you can't with the human eye
