The Florida Panthers keep signing big extensions to key guys. But should they have done all of this?

Will Florida benefit from signing so many guys to long-term deals?

I think the idea is that we keep contention for the next few years, understanding that on the back half of these longer deals the cap will be higher and can bring in additional talent provided we keep Zito who is known for his eye for talent. I think riding the high of a good Panthers team (stadium attendance, money, etc) and trying to cash in on that as much as possible before the eventual rebuild that inevitably comes.
