Actually, San Martin planned an Independent Peru ruled by a monarchy.
One of its candidates was Napoleon Bonaparte (yes, it surprised me too) but also said it could be anyone with royal blood.
It didnt work out because of Bolivar and the republicans. Also because Napoleon died some months after it.
It could be another ending for Peru

Fun Fact: At one point, Peru was pretty much the entirity of south america (excluding portuguese brazil) as a Spanish Viceroyalty and as claim. This didn't last long as eventually the formation of other Viceroyalties such as Rio de la Plata and New Grenada made the Spanish benefit better from South America than having one huge colony.

Good video friend, I just want to tell you a detail, why do they always cut territory in the north of Peru? I mean, the Viceroyalty of Peru was controlling all of South America for more than 200 years, and the Viceroyalty of New Granada was recent with respect to the independence of the American countries from Spain, there is even a dispute there because Peru had the territory above, because Maynas (that's what that territory was called) returned to Peru's power again, only that Gran Colombia, unaware of this, took all this when they became independent from Spain.

The first "good ending" is the current "bad ending". A good ending would be if Peru would cover the territory it claimed when it got independed.
