Just bought two of these as more or less gag gifts for younger siblings, but came to YouTube so I could let them know how functional it was or wasn’t… honestly better money spent than a standard Zebco spin caster from what I’ve seen

I bought my daughter a rod and reel when she was little. She came up to me one time when we were camping and said....Dad I want to fish with a stick.

So I fixed up with a top-notch stick rig. And, she caught a bunch of fish.

I decided that day...the fish could care less what is above the water line.

So the issue is if your rig is sturdy enough for whatever abuse you plan on applying that day

My family got me one of these for Christmas. I travel a lot, and I like to fish in unlikely areas wherever I end up. I think I'll be giving it a try since it will pack in a suitcase quite easily. Looks like you were having fun.

Willie, you know the old saying "Big surprises come in small packages", well you just proved that to be true! I think that combo is cool for what it is and would be a great addition to a "bug out bag", and the best part of it all was your reaction on the first few cast that produced a nice catch, simply awesome! Great video, take care and be safe!

I spooled mine up with 6lb flourocarbon. PLine flouro to be exact and it casts perfectly and the line is double the strength and double the quality of the 3lb crap it comes with. When it needs to be changed I’m gonna try some 10lb braid with a little bit of monofilament as backing

It’s a perfect small rod to carry for hiking and camp outs.

What a coincidence! You and I are wearing the same "Wanna go fishin'?" t-shirts today, Willie!

Nice job Willie, you killed it, all on 2# line. $19 combo.

Hi Willie, now that's my type of reel. It's also my type of price.
It seemed to of really surprised you.
You got a kick out of the first fish. I did too. That little thing flew out there and answered the call. I thought it was a joke at first. But the fish you caught with it, was definitely not a joke. I loved that little thing. If I could change the line, I would not hesitate to buy two of them.
Tell all Hi and meow.
Take care and stay safe till next time.

Howdy Wille! I wonder if your Daiwa Mincast 2 reel would fit on that rod? I like the addition of your original music to the recent videos. You sound great and it's a perfect fit. 🎸Cheers!

Gonna have to get mine back out and respool it with some trout magnet sos . What a huge difference and a lil grease. I snapped off 3 times, trying to catch a lil sunfish. Thanks for some great content. Really enjoy watching your videos.

Can you try switching out the reel with a little Zebco and see what happens? I'll bet it work much better.

Hello, I just have bought this, and I went fishing. Do you know how long the spool will take to run out? Is it sturdy, like will it snap?

Gets me thinking... I have an old tankara rod with a busted tip and a spincast rod reelseat and grip...how about a nine foot version. Might be a whole lot of fun.

If I caught that many fish on one rig that would be my favorite rig lol I am getting me one next time I go to Wally world

I wish that they made real/full sized poles like that.
