The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 2-in-1 Gen 9 is a really solid laptop for the price. Maybe not for gaming, but for day-to-day tasks, this thing will fly through work, while the 14" OLED display is just gorgeous!

Bought the 14 inch a month ago, unfourtently, The OLED version wasn't available on my country, so I bought the regular version,
But, suprisingly for the price you pay, you get more value then expected!
Even for low end gaming on modern titles like elden ring, sekiro shadows die twice, cod mw, fortnite, etc.. I managed to get a solid 60fps on all of them!
So overall, even without OLED, This laptop worth every cent!

I have the 2023 Legion 5 Pro and the thing is a beast. I love the subtle look and the combo of 16:10 panels and small bezels of Lenovo's latest stuff.

I love Lenovo! Ordered one of these 2 days ago for my daughter who starts secondary school in Sept. I'd surveyed the market and liked Lenovo's modular upgrade approach and, same a you, surprise how cheap they were! Thought i'd check for reviews before buying and saw this video... good job, I hadn't upgraded the screen! Added that, all-in came to £744 with a few discounts. Interestingly, my work has a discount code for Lenovo (Perks at Work) and while the starting price is a bit cheaper the upgrade prices are double(??) so worked out cheaper buying as a regular punter. Keen to know more about the cable replacement. I just bought an ANKER 45W to fast charge my S24 Ultra, would that work? Very well produced and informative video. Cheers

I buy tech for the long haul so I chose the IPS panel. OLED has a finite lifespan and any use takes away from this, so regardless of what you display - static or dynamic - eventually pixels that are more worn will become visible relative to their surroundings.
I just bought one with the 16GB RAM/1TB options and other discounts which came to $$595 direct from Lenovo.

Great video! How long does the battery last on this laptop for casual use like web browsing, watching YouTube, etc.?

I'm looking at the Slim version of this laptop, but I admit, I am intrigued by the 2-in-1 form factor. Can't wait for the in-depth review. Great vid, btw!

Nice review, just before seeing this my wife ordered almost exactly same for herself (with me assisting with upgrade suggestions)... and your review made her really happy with the choices we'd made! Made use of the Lenovo EOFY savings, so what would have been an AU$2000 laptop was now just under Au$1400. We didn't bother with 6E Wifi as no plans to upgrade from our current home setups. Thanks for the great video.

I'm very confused buy the 2 in 1 Lenovo range!

There's also a Yoga 7 2 in 1 (14) with the same Ryzen 8840HS CPU, iGPU, RAM, SSD storage & 16:10 OLED display. The Yoga 7 2 in 1 has HDMI 2.1 and a larger battery. That's about the main differences I can see...?

Presumably, this is a cheaper build with a plastic body?

Are there any other differences I'm missing?

Thank you for the review. It's been very informative! 👍

Thank you so much. I am trying to choose between this and Yoga model. Now I have the answer. I like this model but I pick 16 inch one + all upgrade that you showed here.

Just picked up the 16" version of this with all the upgrades, can't wait for it to arrive. I am the girlfriend with the annoying pc gamer boyfriend who will be stealing it to run benchmarks and games... Would like to see you do a video on that for comparison! We didnt go for the OLED screen because im afraid of Burn-in for the long term, but otherwise identical specs.

HDMI 1.4 and no magnets for the stylus are really poor choices that wouldn't have raised the costs if managed properly.

Decent video but I really would've liked to see some gaming benchmarks, because I know that this APU is very good for light gaming
