Pescara 1957 - The Longest F1 Circuit Of All Time

Here's an F1 onboard lap on the longest track in Formula 1 history, Pescara Circuit, which was 25.578 km (15.894 mi) long. The Italian circuit hosted the 1957 Pescara Grand Prix which was a one-off Formula One race. It still stands as the longest circuit to ever hold a world championship race in F1.

This Formula 1 hotlap is driven in Assetto Corsa with Charles Leclerc using the VRC Formula Alpha 2024 with F1 2024 Ferrari SF-24 livery.

Pescara is something that fascinates me. The one time that F1 ran this track dates back to 1957. Even though it's not worthy of today's F1 cars it's still a very unique course. Totally one of F1's best one off tracks in the world. I can see some Formula One drag racing on the long straightaways to make it exciting.

fun fact: a driver had a mechanical problem during the race but he was too far from the pits so he got his car repaired at a gas station nearby

Come pescarese, posso assicurare che il tracciato è riprodotto con estrema fedeltà. Oggi è quasi tutto immerso in un contesto urbano (Pescara, Spoltore, Cappelle sul Tavo, Montesilvano costituiscono di fatto un unico centro abitato), ma la ricostruzione di taluni dettagli è perfettamente riconoscibile. As an Italian, thank you for bringing this epic and historic circuit. It was an event that is passionately remembered to this day in Abruzzo (the region in which Pescara is located). Pescara lays between sea and hills/mountains

Amazing how the middle part of the track could easily be a tarmac rally stage... yet this was a F1 track, somehow

I love the railroad beside the racetrack, safety wise it was the icing on the cake, and I bet the trains were even rolling on during the race.

Just so you get an idea: those two straights are only ever slightly shorter than Mulsanne. This circuit was nuts.

Using modern rules, this track would have only a 12-lap race

F1 raced ones here in 1957. Pole Position was the same lap time as moos in the race and was set by Fangio. That was crazy when you watch todays race laps been several seconds slower than the quali times.
Simulation Lap: 3 Minutes faster and the average 60km/h higher than in 1957.
