Aesthetic Perfection - Dead Zone (Official Audio)

“Dead Zone” is the fourth installment of my 12 songs in 12 months project. Inspired by the music of my youth, “Dead Zone” is a blend of 90’s Alternative and modern synthwave. A gritty breakbeat provides the backbone for winding arpeggios, swirling synths and soaring vocals. It chronicles my personal struggles with mental health and desire to change for the better. The single includes a remix by up and coming French producer SIERRA.

Here is the first thing that pops into my mind when hearing this song.

A person struggling with holding grudges. Which weighs that person down.

This prevents them from experiencing life. Since they are focused on the reason for their resentments caused by their past. To the point that other people avoid them.

This causes the person to feel empty. Which builds more resentment. This cycle feeds itself constantly over and over. Trapping that person in the Dead Zone.

I interpret the facial visuals for this song as a person’s mind constantly dying in their self inflected anger. While the darkness from the rest of the image representing a person trapped in loneliness.

I've followed AP since at least 2009 and I'm just amazed how far Graves voice and music writing ability has evolved. I LOVED the early stuff but im just so impressed every freaking song that comes out and can't wait for the next. I blare AP in my car constantly and sing at the top of my lungs.
