Roland SH-4d Desktop Synthesizer Overview

The SH-4d Synthesizer is a desktop powerhouse with a hands-on workflow and deep synthesis tools for designing the sounds of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. This future retro synth is packed with eleven OSC Models enabling a diverse range of sound-design possibilities, including vintage analog synths—like the SH-4d, SH-101, and JUNO-106 Models—and cutting-edge digital tones, such as Wavetable, Cross FM, and Drawing Models.

You’ll never run out of musical ideas thanks to the multitimbral sequencer with four synth parts plus a rhythm part, plenty of polyphony, and extensive effects. And hands-on controls allow for free-flowing sound design with custom sliders for patch tweaks, robust knobs for parameter adjustments and motion recording, plus keyboard buttons for playing and sequencing.

Four firmware petitions:
1- fix the midi over usb problem when you slave sh4D on Ableton Live and gets double tempo.
2- be able to capture external audio thru 'Mix In' instead internal mixing.
3- double the steps count per pattern from 64 to 128.
4- Increase pattern/patches memory.
Make this machine flawless, please.

Fantastic. I remember trying out the Juno 106 and SH101 back in the day. I couldn't afford them but I loved the analog sounds. This new model has caught my interest.

I've had the MC 707 but I found the user interface too complicated. Now this looks interesting!

A definite purchase, although I read in the manual that the USB audio cannot currently be used to record the 'Mix In' input, hope Roland can change this in a future update, it would be super helpful to be able to record the external instrument along with the multi tracks if hooking upto the computer when having a jam
