DIY SNK LS-30 Joystick to USB Adapter

Here's some atmega32u4 firmware I through together to test a pair of LS-30's I received yesterday.

I bought these specifically for Mame and I'll be making a small joystick enclosure soon.

The firmware presents a composite USB device which enumerates a keyboard for the rotary data and a normal joystick for the normal direction and button data. Everything is working very well in Mame 0.155 for Windows.

The development board I'm using is a $6 Chinese knock off of the Sparkfun Pro Micro board.
