Dame Ellen MacArthur is in conversation with former Executive Secretary of the UNFCCC Christiana Figueres on how the circular economy can tackle climate change. ‍
Felipe Villela, founder and COO of regenerative agriculture accelerator ReNature, joins the conversation and explores why tackling climate change and biodiversity loss relies on connecting smallholder farms to industrial supply chains. And we'll see firsthand how regenerative farming practices are being used in Kenya, to benefit people and the environment, in one of two short films of the session.

Nestlé CEO Mark Schneider and Unilever President of Foods & Refreshment Hanneke Faber make up a panel of experts to reflect on the role of big business in driving fundamental change in the food system.

Erin Billman, Executive Director of the Science Based Targets Network speaks about the importance of using data to measure the impact we are having on the environment today and how this can be used as a baseline from which fundamental change can be made.

As per Ms. Faber from Unilever, 4 crops cover 60% of total food consumption I.e. Rice, Corn, Wheat and Potato. But as per WWF future 50 food report, 3 foods (not 4) cover 60% of global food consumption. The 3 items are Rice, Corn, Wheat. Who is right? I am little confused. I hope the WWF report is correct

thank you for sharing this.
I have several questions, and from them all, I find one quite disturbing... Why are we keep holding to old ways? Are we forcing linear to be rounded shaped and calling it circular, as a circular washing??? Or giving it a new image? Or are we breaking old habits to guarantee a new healthy future for us and the environment? Why are we still holding to this old arcaic idea to use animals for food or anything else, tbh? We are still facing pandemics the arose from animal farming, we are still facing health heart issues from animal consumption and we are treating sentient beings as resources. Come on... this is not the promised future we've been told or that we want to take part of.
This old habit, these superiority beliefs that we are the only living sentient beings on the planet is slowing us down... These animals scream for their lives, that should be enough to find news ways to do things. We can do better, much better.
Come on, fellow humans... things as they were, brought us here... its now time to focus on healthy, ethical alternatives.

Does anyone else see a problem with Europeans coming into Africa and running their farm systems, having locals as non-leader employees? Colonizing behaviors are not empowering to the localities that you work in. Social imapact is as important as the environment. @Ellen MacArthur Foundation
