I first heard this song in 1969 when I was just a 13-year old young boy. I was walking in a park with a transistor radio, and heard this on a SECULAR, that is, non-Christian radio station. And then later I heard it on *another* secular radio station. "Why are they playing this great song?? What is going on here?" For the entire summer I heard it all over the radio. I'll never forget.

I am 66 now, and still love this song to death. I later found out it was a #1 smash hit all over the western world peaking to #1 and #2 in several countries, and propelled Gospel Music to great heights and setting a sort of new standard.

The simple message of the song, repeated over and over, is an important key truth of Christianity, that proclaims the great exuberant joy of having one's sins washed away. There is not a more important joy a sinner can have!

What a beautiful memory to have been alive then when this was happening live in the world. And what a thrill to have found out only a few years ago that this actual video existed of that historic moment. I can't stop watching!

I remember that back in 69/70, you couldn't turn on the radio without hearing this song and also how this song would pick you up and how this song gave you a feeling of hope and fill your being with joy .
