I studied for five years at the university. My boyfriend stopped going to school aged 16. We were madly in love. We were comfortable together like a two-piece jigsaw puzzle. I admired his intelligence, his calm approach to problems, his chivalrous, protective but never condescending attitude to women and he was in awe at my mastery of literature and all the cultural tidbits I fed him when we traveled together. He couldn’t get his head around my love of classical music though, which to him sounded like cats being tortured 😂. I wasn’t keen on going to his nights out playing snooker, so I stayed home and read while he had fun with the lads. He ran a scaffolding business and offered me a lifestyle my teacher’s salary was not enough to dream of. There is so much you can share beyond a school education. Listen to the person, watch them interact with the world. You may well discover a hidden treasure.
