Yesterday, I saw my year-old son "read" himself a book for the first time. He opened it, babbled, flipped the page, babbled some more. Every time he figures something out, it's like new life breathed into me. I'll be on my knees in gratitude for the rest of my days.

My high school best friend and I took very different paths in life. While I've been working since I was 16 (with few exceptions), I married at 21 with the goal of having a family. She poured everything into breaking the glass ceiling of the banking industry, with the intention of finding love later. Nearly 40 years later, I'm still married to the same man, and we have 2 grown sons. She has never married. While she jokingly used to call me Little Suzie Homemaker, I think that she secretly wishes she had made different choices.

Gotta say props to the women for actually listening instead of shrieking or calling Charlie names. The couple of times they strawmanned him, he corrected them and they accepted it. None of them called him names or accused him of being part of the patriarchy. They seemed to genuinely appreciate hearing his perspective. Regardless of their choices, you have to admit this is a wildly different type of crowd than Charlie usually speaks to in that sense.
