EU Reacts To Lord Frost's 'Unstainable' Northern Ireland Protocol Rhetoric!

The European Union has responded to comments made by Lord Frost, the Brexit Minister about how the Northern Ireland Protocol, which was part of the agreement he negotiated is "unstainable". European Commissioner Mairéad McGuinness attacked the "battering of the protocol" by Frost and others in Boris Johnson's party.

I am delighted you have highlighted Mairéad's interview. The voice coming out of the EU in response to the Brexit/Protocol lies and rhetoric is at times too soft. We need more of this type of firm response. It can be difficult for the EU sometimes to know when to speak out or when it is too sensitive a topic in Ireland. Mairéad can get away with that harder line.

I wish that this information is conveyed to the British people. We in the EU do not hate them, we respect their wish to leave the EU but they need to face the consequences. We cannot allow our far from perfect union to be falsely attacked by the liars who are in power in the the UK. My main reason to defend the EU is that we have not had a war in the EU for the longest time in history and I am also proud we have set rules about food safety that are second to none. Let's try to resolve our differences and live in peace, it is not much to ask!

Having grown up in Northern Ireland I've seen loyalists riot block roads all over the North of Ireland these reasons have been down to Ango Irish Agreement, Drumcree and the the union Jack only being allowed to fly so many days a year bringing it in line with the rest of the UK, now they are going to do it with the Irish sea boarder issue and each time they where beaten they didn't get their own way, so I call on the EU please remember the people of Northern Ireland that voted remain

Johnson tryed to force the EU to end the talks (perhaps even hopping to not ratify the Trade Agreement) so that he could say - it's not me, the EU stopped talking. Unfortunately for him, the EU didn't act as expected and now his lack of honesty is exposed.
