Sideload Buddy

Sideload Buddy is a utility app available on the Google Play store for Android TV and Google TV. It is a multifunctional tool that is particularly useful for installing and backing up APK packages. With this app, you can extract APK files from Android TV or Google TV devices, or install APK files directly from a USB disk on Android TV OS versions 9, 10, 11, and 12, as well as on Google TV using Android TV OS version 12.

It's important to note that when using Sideload Buddy on Android 11 and later, you should choose "Install from Storage Access Framework" instead of USB.

If your device doesn't have a USB port, Sideload Buddy also allows you to download an APK directly from an HTTPS URL and install it.

When you install a non-TV app without a leanback launcher icon, you can use Sideload Buddy to open them from its built-in launcher interface.

On Google TV, it can be challenging to find how to uninstall an app, but with Sideload Buddy, it is easy to uninstall apps that you no longer need.
