Jazz can be hard, just like any good music can be hard (Metal or Classical or even some Folk/Ambient). It is a good skill to learn many other different hard styles as a Metal guitarist, so you can draw inspiration from many sources and make your music unique and interesting (unlike most modern metal). However you have to also remember that hard doesn't always mean good. Sometimes less gives you more.
