JJ's Red Hots, the popular hot dog restaurant in Charlotte's Dilworth neighborhood, will close this week after serving the Queen City for nearly 13 years.

The restaurant made the announcement on Facebook, thanking customers for their years of loyalty. The restaurant's last day will be Sunday, March 16.

"Thanks to all of you who relished the wacky idea of a hot dog and sausage concept in Charlotte," the company posted on Facebook. "We will especially miss our weekly regulars and superfans, without whom we would have never made it past the first few months."

In 2018, JJ's celebrated selling 1 million hot dogs. The restaurant's popularity surged in the 2010s, with Food Network personality Guy Fieri featuring it on his hit show "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives."
