BMW iX 2022 Review @carsales.com.au

Excluding the underrated i3, the 2022 BMW iX is not only the Bavarian brand’s first dedicated electric SUV, but its first long-range, high-output, battery-powered family SUV.

It might be a little late to market compared to the Audi e-tron, Jaguar I-PACE, Mercedes-Benz EQC and the pioneering Tesla Model X, but this large and luxurious zero-emissions SUV is certainly not playing catch-up.

In fact, as Nadine Armstrong discovers here, the 2022 BMW iX xDrive 40 Sport could be the electric SUV that luxury car buyers have been waiting for.

No more BMWs for me after my Diesel powered 2017 X1 became instantly worthless when the motor damaged itself beyond repair. They said it was a failed timing chain. It had 140 k on the clock and a full service history from new by my local BMW agent.

iX is not a wagon. It’s an SUV or as BMW like to call it, SAV. I don’t get how could you use wagon and SUVs interchangeably? A wagon is more like a sedan sans the third box. And it sits low just as sedan. An SUV is typically characterising by high raise body and is developed with a boxy body from the ground up.
