Toilet clogged by iguana: Florida family shocked to find massive lizard blocking toilet - TomoNews

FORT LAUDERDALE, FLORIDA — A family got the shock of a lifetime when they discovered a reptile was lurking in their toilet on Sunday.
The odd episode began when Marian Lindquist's daughter, Lily, tried unsuccessfully to flush a toilet in their home, WSVN 7 News reports.
"I thought that maybe something had fallen and was stuck in the toilet," Lily told WSVN 7 News. "Maybe jewelry or something."
Her mom said she used a plunger several times to unclog the toilet, but the water kept on rising.
The family called Roto Rooter who sent over plumber Alisa Scott to tackle the job.
Armed with an auger, Scott got down to business, but mid-way through caught sight of something strange.
"We heard this bloodcurdling scream from the bathroom," Lily told WSVN 7 News.
Scott pulled out a foot and a half long iguana using the hook of the auger from the toilet.
The reptile was so large that the plumber needed help getting it out.
Scott told WSVN 7 News this was the first time, in 12 years of fishing things out of toilets, that she'd seen anything as odd as an iguana.
The reptile was alive when she first pulled it out, but when its neck got hooked onto the auger it suffocated to death.
Scott believes the animal must have jumped from a tree to the roof, where the Lindquist's had an open pipe. The iguana likely lodged itself in the pipeline that lead to the toilet.
