After a long hiatus, I'm finally back.

Hope everyone is doing well and learning to ride this wave of uncertainty that's upon us all. But, if there's one thing that's still certain, it's gonna have to be change.

Yes, all things shall pass. And new opportunities will always arise for those who want to see them.

Much love to all and thanks so much for watching!

I remember the early cellphones. They were very large. Thanks for sharing this. Cheers!

Thank you New York for inventing toilet paper which in 2020 is the most priceless item to have in your home. The masses are clearing the shelves to have these in their homes lol

Thank you for coming back! I love this channel! This is a fascinating episode. I had no idea that all these common, everyday things were invented in NYC. I never would have guessed air conditioning, since it is so heavily used in southern states. And Christmas! Wow!

I was thinking about you just last week oddly enough, and wondered when you were going to come back. Glad to have you back!

Regarding Baseball cards my father worked on the water front piers in Brooklyn and Bush terminal was a large manufacturing complex and Topps cards had a printing facility there. My dad would see 1000's of cards in the dumpster that were misprints, mostly colors of team names on the bottom. I had so many cards that he fished them out of the dumpster. When we would play ''colors'' or ''flip'' cards no one could ever beat me because I had the rejected cards. I got into a lot of scuffles at P. S. 203 in the 60's because of these cards, people said that I was cheating.

Don't forget the most important NYC invention: The Oreo cookie was first developed and produced by Nabisco in 1912 in a Chelsea, New York City factory. The factory is now the Chelsea Market complex.

You missed the invention of the safety elevator. In 1853, machinist Elisha Otis perfected a braking mechanism that would stop a lifting platform should its hoisting cables snap. Otis displayed his invention at the New York Crystal Palace by cutting the rope on a lift in mid air, scaring the patrons who anticipated a crash. No, it didn't happen. The brakes engaged, locking the car in place. "All safe, everyone", he said.
