Antivirus Security Pro Information and Removal Guide

Moving on to the fake antivirus, today's subject is a rogue that has been out for quite awhile, but due to technical reasons I have not been able to make a proper video for it. The rogue is Antivirus Security Pro. This rogue uses a few techniques to make removal difficult, such as blocking programs and disabling Safe Mode. Removal instructions are as follows:

2. Extract the files
3. Begin running the files one by one, until a command prompt window stays on the screen
4. Press any key to continue
5. Chameleon will begin downloading MBAM, and killing malicious processes. When this is completed, MBAM will automatically start a quick scan.
6. After the scan is completed, click Remove Selected.
7. Reboot

My grandfather had this slide up on his laptop today and we've been trying to get rid of it. It appears that the maker of this virus is updating and making it stronger. We've had to download Chameleon onto a flash drive and hopefully he'll be able to access from there. Will keep you updated and thanks again for this wonderful video. :)

i need help. not exactly looking to uninstall my antivirus but randomly, i get alerted a hundred times that the antivirus is disabled even though it is not and is working perfectly

When w7 says navigation cancelled in chm files, you have to right click it, click properties and click unblock.

The uninstaller page says to make sure the "file" is named cleaner.exe
Do you suppose a someone could get around the program blocking by renaming files to cleaner.exe?

I got a random question, because I l've been wondering: is having MBAM, AVG, and another Antivirus (Super AntiSpywate) too much protection, or is good to have those for a second opinion?

go into safe mode with networking, connect to the internet long enough to download and run ESET Online scanner, as soon as the database is up to date and the scan starts (disconnect the internet, this stops trojans and worms from communicating)

Help, I followed the directions, and got malwarebytes chameleon downloaded. Opened the HTML file and went through all 12 tests, none of them worked. Now what? HELP!!

Months ago, I only suggested chameleon (alongside that useless startuplite) for a video idea; I did not think you would be using it regularly. I am now even more glad I suggested it.
Also, could that "repair your computer" option at 5:54 work with system restore? Maybe you should try that sometime.

It says it contained a virus ad was deleted but I believe its a different virus that does that since anything I try to download says the same exact thing I need help please!

I followed all of the steps and when I reboot my computer the virus pops back up again.  What am I doing wrong?

The power of Malware Bytes.

At this point, it seems like the best method there is to removing viruses and malware (of course); is it actually better than pretty much any anti-virus program like Avast (unless it's the case of a phone virus with some of your videos)?

I misread that at first and though you said "tool". Which, by the way, there is a Norton removal tool by Norton: it is meant to be used after all Norton products have been removed from "add/remove programs"/"uninstall a program", but even that tool doesn't completely remove it.
