thanks for commenting! you can use wifi only for skype and your lte separately! i use skype on wifi all the time!!! as for the calling over voip i barely use it...cause its almost useless.

works on both wifi and data plan. so wifi only or data plan only or both...doesnt matter. Everything on the phone works over wifi except making a voice call.

yes it does and operates identical to android. however im happy its working and its on blackberry after 3 years!

i deleted the skype in my q10 blackberry to reinstall it back to the memory card but couldnt find skype app anylonger in blackberry world. how do i install skype again?

You can go back by doing a diagonal swipe from the bottom, towards the left (diagonally - 45 degree angle). You can swipe from the top, and click the info button on the bottom bar to see the gesture.

by the way the switching the camera from back to front does work, by default in a call it goes to the front but to get the back working you have to turn it off, then turn it on then quickly switch cameras then the back will come on, had this same problem with my s3

Can you use it over WiFi, just like using Skype on your PC, i.e. not using your DATA plan on your mobile network, but using the (unlimited and faster) WiFi when you're in a free WiFi area? I don't mind paying Skype 3.5 cents/minute for calls to phones, I do mind using up my data for a call.

on a Blackberry device running BB10.x, in order to "go back" swipe diagonally from bottom right to the left.
you can see "how to" do this by opening Skype and swiping from the top down. click the "Info" button. this is true for all applications that are ported from Android and not a native BB application

It seems the keyboard backlight is brighter on the Q10 vs the Passport which has a softer light.  Is that true?

There is a relatively recent update to Skype in BlackBerry World which incorporates a "back" button.

so ...thanks for commenting! you have to go online to their website enter your IMEI number etc and activate the free world calls. So this coupon gives you unlimited calling to 60 countries any number world wide! after that you basically pay to call depending on your location. But if youre in Bahamas i doubt you will get free wifi calls to cell phones etc. However if the person is on wifi has a skype account etc you can call them for free and vice versa. hope it helps!

it does support multilanguage the apps doesnt support it becuase of the physical keyboards .

Tell him go to blackberry world icon click on it and look for the magnifying. Glass and type in skype ...it will show up and he needs to download it. Hope this helps

really! interesting! its always weird seeing someone else with the same bday! guess early happy birthday to you eh! like check around android if you want...however the battery life on this is really good so keep that when considering your next buy
