Please share master board. Thank you for this clear understanding. I too am new to this. Yet I’m an artist and have been painting for 30 years. Crafts are outside of my natural ability and your videos are most helpful.

I started scrapbooking 20 years ago and then card making; honestly I wasn't really great. I didn't have that design eye to make layouts. I've finally found my way to mixed media, and it's my happy place. I love that other people "get it" and love gluing paper as much as I do!! Found my paper people!! Thank you!!

You dont have to keep them seperate. I do all three in every book I make. I writed down thoughts or something that happens. I save tickets, pictures in same book. I sit down and draw, paint, sew add papers, fearhers etc. put a sample of a new technique in it. I make books for holidays and only put stuff for those holidays in those books. Some contain 5 years for that holiday in the same book. Its your book. Do what you like in it!

Excellent video, especially for the beginner. Wish I had had something like this a hundred years ago!! LOL!!

For me, I buy a pretty junk journal, and then I journal in it and embellish even more. I haven't mastered the art of making the book at the level I want yet.

I even have a junk recipe journal that I am using to compile my favorite diabetic recipes, hoping the journal will inspire me to eat better. 😊 A girl can hope.

Good information, thank you. Regarding the orientation of your Japanese text, I use text from various languages that don’t rely on the Latin alphabet, and I never worry about which direction they face. That’s because I use them as graphic elements rather than written language. I do the same with bits of English text (and numbers) as well. Backwards, forwards, up, down, doesn’t matter. I’m looking at the characters as shapes.

Funny story: I recently completed a collage using a portion of a Japanese newspaper as part of the background. After it was all done, an acquaintance told me a portion of the text was an ad for constipation relief. 😂

I'd like to see how you come up with a masterboard. I have not made one, but it looks interesting. Your books always look so nice.

Another great video about Glue Books (+JJ)! I grabbed an old WWD Accessories magazine and have covered with Dollar Tree Toile contact paper. The theme is going to be “Fashion-related” since there are so many GORG accessory pieces inside. I’ll add things from my collection to enhance the pages.

I really enjoy your down to earth videos and how you talk us through your thought process. I have numerous supplies and would appreciate your sharing how you come up with your cute little box with a variety of small papers in various sizes?

I used a browine box because Dolly Parton was on the front. I cut her out and glued it to a page, added some stamping, and a memory of cooking with my mom. Literally, I think anything goes. It's yours be free. ❤❤❤❤

I use an old book for glue book, if I need a tag, I tear that page out and cut it up… great way to keep scraps corralled and easy for collages

Yes. Thank you so much for this. ❤ For the sake of ease of describing my paper crafts to friends and family, I'm just going to call it all "collage journaling" because that will make more sense to them than "gluebook" and it describes the intent of my craft on a given day.

Craft stores are great for papers, especially the scrapbook aisle, always check the bargain bins, also websites like stationerypal have a lot of thin papers, stickers / sticker flakes, washi etc for very inexpensive if you have a specific theme or style in mind!

Thanks Margarete! Being new to junk journaling it’s nice to have someone show things and tell things that maybe should be obvious but aren’t. The lingo, the how and why. It’s nice to have that talked about. I enjoyed your videos very much.

Thank you! Funny I've been doing these for a a little while. But when people ask me, I really didn't know how to explain except, it's Fun..lol. You really are a good teacher, explain things well. Always enjoys your video.❤

Dear Margaret ❤ so many varieties of home made books. And yes with scrapbooks, At first I thought they were more like a home made photo album with specific layouts etc, and the therevis the really old fashioned kind when you just chuck anything you like in. Glue here is really expensive. Bostik, blue glue sticks with the green lizard is about $4Au. Per stick, i also like to buy pva glue in bulk as it works out more economical. Also love double sided tape for plastic stuff. Im always finding pattern papers in thrifted magazines. This a very useful video. Thanks so much. Happy crafting ❤🇭🇲

Great discussion and explanations as usual. I love both junk journals and glue books, but I have discovered that I love glue books more. Thank you once again for very clear explanations.❤️
