What made this character of Lady Tremaine so compelling was that you saw someone who is so beautiful and engaging and charismatic yet so broken and cold as well, someone who has endured so much tragedy and pain and finally after Cinderella’s father dies she is then condemned to look at his daughter someone he loved more then Lady Tremaine. Blanchett conveyed this character so brilliantly.

Cate Blanchett was perfect for the role. She is a master in the art of acting, and we see here she truly does. The coldness in her eyes is conveyed exceedingly well here.

I personally like to believe that Ella’s father didn’t marry Tremaine out of love, but because he felt sorry for her and her daughters due to they’re situation. Also he thought a mother and two sisters would greatly benefit Ella. Or Tremaine simply charmed and schemed her way into his heart, taking advantage of his kindness.

Lady Tremaine may have been a contemptuous bitch but did she have incredible taste in wardrobe. And unlike *other* Disney movies that humanize the villains ( :cough Maleficent cough: ), the scenes here gave her a sympathetic essence while still maintaining her cruelty.

I've rewatched this movie and it was actually better than i remember, cate blanchett was spot on, they give lady tremaine more background here, so sad disney remakes aren't made like this anymore😪.

The way she comes into the house and tilts her head up kind of reminds me of Rose in 'Titanic' when you first see her, although this is like a darker version.

I really need to see a prequel movie about Lady Tremaine. I would like how she was like when she was young, how she met her husband Francis and how they fell in love. I believe that she wasnt evil from start but because she didnt know how to handle her saddness and anger after her husbands death. She deserves her movie, her story seems so interesting
