I was going to pan this printer. I was going to pan it bad. but the more I messed with and used it the more impressed I got (not quite what You think :-) I still say avoid this and get a CR-10 or Tornado. :-)

I have to say the printer DOES work. it is also quite a bit cheaper than the CR-10. you can buy this printer for less than a maker select wanhao duplicator and almost as cheap as an MP Mini and you get CR-10 print volume. I think it they can get this at or below $250 and keep it their this would be a good value buy.

The printer bed needs work. namely the y Carriage plate. the prints come out astonishingly good. incredible in fact compared to what I THOUGHT I was going to get. but a simple S*&T ton of noise. all because of that y carriage plate. it "vibrates" and those vibrations end up as "noise" in the final prints.

Stay tuned for my follow up video and a possible $10 or less fix for that problem.

While I think a CR-10 or Tornado is a better buy this printer is pretty impressive strictly from an engineering point of view for efficiency. they cut a lot of corners to get the price down much lower than a CR-10 (remember a CR-10 is $450 the $340 CR-10 are "burn offs" of the original CR-10 version) this is $260. pretty impressive how they figured out how to make it cheaper while still having a usable working CR-10 class printer. I am impressed. I would not buy one but still impressed :-) Bad buy or not the engineer who worked on this deserves some credit for that feat.

if they update it with a proper thick stiff Y Plate and good springs this printer could be a contender. if your budget really MUST stay below $300 and you really want CR-10 big print volume this printer might not be so bad.

I really appreciate the honest reviews. I love when a reviewer shows the good and the bad. So often it is either "the best" or "the worst". I am glad you take the time to look at all the aspects and let the viewer decide.

I'm looking forward to receiving my CR-10, to finally be able to use all this knowledge I have acquired from watching your videos. GAH, you are so thorough and detailed. And a GREAT educator.

Fab channel Nerys👍

Did you ever get around to changing the heat bed spring on your Ender 2 I recall you saying something about them in a video but I can’t find that video.
I’m looking at changing mine to the same type as the cr-10 but I can’t find them anywhere

I have been looking at this, and the E12 from Anet. Just wish they were cheaper for what they are lol

In some use cases it could be helpful that this printer is ce/fcc/rohs certified. I would appreciate if Creality could do the same - school maker spaces would benefit from having a large 3D-printer.

bleh I no like crappy heat bed. Pretty cable braiding though... the on controller spoolers is a good idea maybe.

Hello!
What do you think is a better choice for a newbie?
Tevo Tornado, Anycubic I3 Mega, Creality CR-10 (not the upgraded version), Anet E10, this tronxy, maybe and Ender (yes I've seen you loving yours a lot :D )?
Maybe another one aroud 300-350 bucks?

Thank you for your help!
Robert

Great video! Was the coupon for just a short while? It wouldn't work when I tried to use it.

Does it have Repetier firmware? If so, that would have to go! I find it super frustrating. On the whole, I like my tronXY X1 - it is a fun little printer, so was interested to see how something else from TronXY would shape up!

Hiya, I have the x3s - an it's confusing me a little.. ok loads. It's resonating at certain point along the print. I'm printing a circle, smaller diameter ones are fine but bigger ones cause thr bed to vibrate due to harmonics between the X and Y, i can physically see it vibrate only at the corners of you imagine an X on the face. Changing acceleration, jerk, actual print speed and even temp doesn't seem to stop it. I tightened and loosened the belt.. only thing I have not done yet is change the power to the stepper - last resort, if I have any left?
But like I say, all other print are fine! On my X1 it nexer had this issue on the same model.
Any advice? Idea why?

Tevo sucks, Tronxy is bad, Creality has issues. WTH printer that does 300x300x300 minimum is there that doesn't suck or have issues? This is a serious question.
