Or you could use a bit of angle iron, skip all the bs

Just have to tell you this. Two scraps of angle iron will do the same thing with a lot less initial work. .

Pretty sure I could fit that up squarely and welded it before you even got the two pieces clamped Into the jig there.

You can do that just as well with any angled surface or even a vice and saved yourself a half hour of cutting and grinding.

Top tip grind across the length of the tube use the grinding wheel flat and never ever dig in.

Good idea if you want to waste a ton of time doing something very simple... dozens of quicker and easier ways to do something like this

You can accomplish that with 2 clamps and a 1x1x 6-7 angle ( or however big the pipe is)... it's creative but wastes time.... if it's for casual stuff it's fine, but if I did something like that at work I'd get In trouble for taking too long....

Literally put way to much effort into this. I use a single piece of angle tack one side, flip it tack the other, then boom weld it 360. Way to much effort. Also just it the two pieces into a vice. You don’t need pipe clamps. That’s just over kill.

Just switch out the faces on a quick clamp for two bits of angle. It's quicker to make and use. If you don't have quick clamps... just use any clamp, pliers or make a basic pair.

Or just have more space brtween hr pipe for proper penetration and less grinding
