Oh my gosh. I think you just liberated me. I was held captive by this clay soil. I’m not going to amend it but plant a bit higher. Whew. Thank you.

Thank you so much for this video. Alabama weather definitely isn’t Michigan weather, so thanks for the tips.

I have been working on starting a small nursery.. I have propagated hundreds of hydrangeas. Mostly Annabelle, Blue and strawberry vanilla panicles. But I was gifted a small piece of Limelight. It was wilted, dehydrated and hardly enough a clipping to salvage., but I managed to save it. It’s perked up, rooting well and has gained a couple leaves.
Excited to add it to my gardens. 🙏🏻💐💛
🌱Keep growing.🙏🏻

This was by far the most helpful video I've seen on Hydrangeas in the south. I am scared to plant anything in clay soil without amendments. Just bought 2 for the northest side so here goes. Excited to see what the summer brings

Thank you, I was afraid I wouldn't be able to have these beautiful flowers in my yard! When you said plant on the East or North side of the house, I was so happy! I have just the spot!

I planted 60 feet of Limelight with Pinky Winky mixed in 3 years ago . They grow about the same rate so they make a great hedge. Best move i ever made.

SO happy to see this video. I was on the fence about ordering Little Limes because of my clay soil in North Carolina. I've ordered two for the east side of my house and always thought they would love it there EXCEPT for my clay soil. Gonna give it a try now.

Finally a Deep South gardener! I have a hydrangea that has accidentally bloomed ( meaning I have ZERO gardening sense! ) I’m in Birmingham AL - this gorgeous purple blue hydrangea.
Just overwatered! Lol before watching this video

This was so helpful, I kept reading that hydrangeas won’t bloom in the shade! I get a couple hours of sun but more shade here in NC. Feeling more optimistic they well do well!

in the dry heat of the Okanagan Valley, B.C. afternoon wilting was stopped by mulching with cedar shavings!! I’m thinking any mulch would work. Ground was too hot.

So they need to be in shade? I read that panicle hydrangeas do okay in full sun?
