Classic footage of Bob Lilly glancing up at the game clock.
Priceless!

I remember watching this game and the excruciating countdown of the clock....and then the absolute bliss of seeing my Cowboys win their first ever SB

Was 8 years old and it’s the game I became a Dallas Cowboys fan for life. I was an 8 year old bandwagoner and still on today.

Just love how Lily makes a 29-yard sack and just gets up and walks away. No chest pounding, hip wiggles or group posturing only "I'm just a football player playing football".

I'm old enough to remember watching this game live. Dallas manhandled a Miami team that with the same players went 17-0 the next season.

The Cowboys were screwed the year before. Thomas fumbled at the 2 yard line and Manders  (Cowboys great center)recovered it, they gave it to the fucking Colts. Morton went nuts and the refs said "Another word and I'll throw you out of the game.' The should have won back to back

The Rams have become the second NFL team to be held to just 3 points in a Super Bowl.
I wish the Cowboys had continued to hold that record exclusively.

Dallas had lost heartbreakers to Green Bay in the NFL Championship games of ‘66 and ‘67 (the Ice Bowl), then lost badly to Cleveland in the Eastern Division Playoffs of ‘68 and ‘69, then lost narrowly to Baltimore in the 1970 Super Bowl. So they were due. The long wait was over. The Cowboys had their first title - Jan. 16, 1972.

Thank you Lance Alworth for making your last NFL touchdown as a Cowboy.
You caught that fast ball and kept both feet in bounds so magnificently with no room to spare.
You looked back at the official to make sure it was a touchdown.
You were open a lot in this game, but Roger missed you. This time he didn't.

Great game, and Roger is my childhood hero but the MVP of that game should have been Lily or even Chuck Howley. They both had monster games! And the next year basically the same Miami team went undefeated, a record that is always toasted by the remaining players when the last undefeated team of each season loses. 😉

Duane Thomas reminds me of Marcus Allen.

That might have been the only Tom Landry smile seen on film.

The Game that catapulted the 1972 -73 Dolphins to perfection. 17-0 says it all.
