Using macros for year is very problematic: At my job we hit this EXACT problem. Every January 1st our two-dozen machines would start failing. The problem turned out to be a HARD-CODED YEAR somewhere in the program code.

If you need the year, you can afford 0.01 milliseconds to actually get the year from a clock. Macros are a bad solution in this case!
