I always love these videos. '"Easy diy install". Not the easiest job if you have a house full of archaic 80's half seized lockshield valves on all your rads like me. Dead easy if you're lucky enough to have shiny modern trv's on a recently installed system.

We are running 17 radiators with this system, worked out it pays for itself in 12 to 18 months, now we can completely heat individual rooms (you don’t need the room themostats).

Saves money as you can heat the room you are using and set times and temps for each room.

Gives you total heating control.

Done this myself in August and its not as scary as I thought and had put off since March! Just needed extra TRVs and your 40% off code was awesome saved me £90 :)

A really cheap option for smart control is also to pop a Sonoff minil2 on the live/switched live to the thermostat in the wiring centre. Let's you get rid of the wall thermostat entirely. Can combine with a temperature sensor in Home Assistant... You can then control heating from any mobile/tablet/wall panel, home or away... And use in automations... Ie auto turn off heating when everyone leaves the house etc.

i have this system, and it has had its issues but controlling it from my phone makes it easy. one suggestion is to add geofencing via ifttt. its free and there are settings already, you can simple click and add. it means when you leave your house, the system goes into away mode, so you dont have to do it manually. once you arrive home it goes out of away mode and the heating will continue to be set to room temps and heat schedule.

Drayton wiser is a great system, I sold my very old Honeywell unit and thermostat on ebay and nearly paid for buying this (without TRVs) new.

So far i haven't upgraded to TRV, but nice to be able to use Alexa to control the heating and switch on and off away from home

Just saved £334 by using your discount code, so thanks. My install should be a lot simpler as the backing plate is already there.

Thanks, I’ve just taken a Drayton & Zhender thermostat off to measure are compare. The open & closed dimensions are the same 20 & 15mm. They fit each others valves and work fine. As a DIYer I assumed each manufacturer did their own thing. Seems there is a standard. Thanks

Thanks for the great video. I've been looking for a smart heating system for some time and settled on the Wiser system to add to my combi boiler however I have been a little unsure about the installation but your video clears this up plus the 40% off code is hard to resist.

I don't have a standard wiring unit as you had in your video but the feed from the boiler just goes to the standard RST1 stat unit that you must have seen loads of.

It has a permanent 240V feed with a call for heat connection too. Looking at the wiring diagram it looks like the one channel hub unit will just replace the stat as long as pin 3 has a link to feed 240V. Other than that, it looks pretty straightforward.

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks DIY guy. One question on the back plate. I have the same one that comes with the wiser product already in my wall and all wiring is already there. Do i really just pop the wiser hub on and job done? As well, my 2 zones system is controlled by wall thermostats (temperature only), do i leave them on the wall connected to the electricity? Thanks again.

Can you install these on a gravity boiler system.

Hi Cameron. Two queries; 1. What happens if the internet goes down. 2. If the battery fails on one or more TVRs?

Are backplates really industry standard? no need to rewire? from one company to another is there no difference? I have h27xl hortmann

Great video! I have the exact same setup - same stats and same boiler so should be a very easy job. Quick question that may know - the 3rd pipe has a red return valve on? What should that be set to? Can't find answers anywhere.

Hello, do the radiators still need to be balanced, given they are now individually controlled, whereas before they would all be on/off at the same time?
