This is one of the best walkthroughs I've seen done. Amazing job Bill.

great video!
(columns appearing before others in the hierarchy is depending on which column you selected first when creating the hierarchy. )

Hi
I need some help regarding the SSAS Tabular model.
I have three date tables first one Creation data second one End date and Assigned data.
Hence all the columns names are the same naming convention in all three tables, while dragging the fields to excel pivot table filter I am not able to identify which field is it and from where it is coming.
Could you please help me how to differentiate that .
Is there any option to make a table name dot column.

Having just started learning SSAS multi-dimensional modelling, this tabular model seems to be pretty much the same, but simpler. Creating hierarchies looks like a breeze!

Since your data sources are views would it not be better to modify the lowest level view and add the the desired columns from the children to the parent for the hierarchies?

Very nice video. how often the data get updated ? I mean if you insert new rows in the datasource the SSAS get them or you have to update it manually?

you took same ADVDW database its already aggregated data, can we do it in a detail level data will that give good performance? if not we need to create DW then for calculations on measures only tabular will work right?

Great video, however it would be worthwhile mentioning the difference between query performance and process performance. After all, the query performance is the number one rule Microsoft has for Tabular model. In this regard, it would be good to mention all the record/row based calculation is best done in the ETL layer, Tabular has the capacity but it is not what it is built for.
