Two teen brothers shot and killed at Oakland house party

An Oakland house party, largely attended by teens, turned deadly on Sunday when gunfire erupted inside a home. Two brothers, both Berkeley High School students, were shot and killed at a house on the 950 block of Apgar Street, just before 10 p.m.

SF, Peninsula etc House parties in the 80's and 90's did have fights, but most of the time the weapon of choice were fists. Bottles and objects were sometimes thrown and also sticks were used, and on occasion you heard of someone using a knife usually as a threat that's it. I don't remember ever hearing someone using a gun.

I've been to countless parties since 13 years of age(but not after my mid 20s). It's easy to judge what kind of parties to avoid. Parties that get overpopulated early almost always devolve to some form of violence. Know how to judge.
