Picking Organic Sweet Corn | Oxbo 2475 corn picker | suiker mais plukken

Harvesting organic sweet corn maize using a Oxbo 2475 self propelled harvester equipped with a 6-row 3630F header owned by contractor Breure De Waard from Swifterbant.
The corn cobs are loaded directly on trucks which bring them directly to the factory where they are processed and packed within a few hours.

Fascinating - I've been on this planet for 3/4 of a century, I can't help thinking how much we owe our farming industry and technology. Even tho modern equipment has thinned the ranks considerably, a sincere Godspeed to all our remaining essential workers in the agriculture field.

Picked a lot of sweet corn by hand but we only planned enough for the family. For the field corn, we harvested with a combine. That appears to be a standard corn head but without the internal components to shell the corn. Very cool.

Nice video, showed a closer view of some of what's going on than we can see just watching it going past our house - our neighbor's are currently harvesting about 3, 000 acres of sweet corn with a very similar machine. First time we've had corn around us after being here 15 years!
