"We must face the consequences of the actions we does that mean Blair will agree to being judged on war crimes? Sending soldiers to death to fight a war based on lies he knew about?

What a shame, if Blair didn't support the Iraq War. The man would've been Britain's most loved PM in the 21st century.

The United Nations secretary general, Kofi Annan, declared explicitly for the first time last night that the US-led war on Iraq was illegal. ... He then added unequivocally: "I have indicated it was not in conformity with the UN charter. From our point of view and from the charter point of view it was illegal."....RIP Kofi!.

I was a big fan of Tony Blair speeches. But could not believe the reason he gave to invade Iraq.
By his stated yardstick Putin and Russia should also qualify for an invasion.

British involvement in Iraq was met with worldwide protests prior to the official invasion since many anti war activists opposed sending troops there since they thought this region had no strategic gain and would cost many lives.

I didn't agree with the Iraq War, however, Blair made a fantastic case for it here.

It's just a shame that the reason for going to war turned out to be a lie because, like it or not, it sowed the seeds for future conflict.

Blair was not wrong about the humanitarian crisis in Iraq, of course not. But the point is that our intervention, along with the US and other nations, created a whole new kind of humanitarian crisis. The lesson to be learned from this is that the whole region of the middle east is incredibly fragile and unstable. We were foolish to believe we could plant the seeds of change in such a volatile region. But I also can't ignore how the intervention scenario, even though solving nothing in terms of humanitarian issues, was incredibly profitable for the industries involved in its reconstruction. So we are left asking the question, what really was the lesser of two evils?
