The ump is saying "you can't leave your position to argue balls and strikes." Which is 100% true. It's an automatic ejection every time. Look at Bochy's ejection. It's the exact same thing, except Bochy knew it was gonna happen.

This is truly the one time i can agree with the ump for being so quick. It was over. The batter and the ump talked politely, and it was over. Manager decided he needed to say something. Which threatens delaying the game for no reason.

That was so quick and so calm, the manager had trouble getting worked up to even yell at the ump.

There was a vid in the past year or so with a manager basically begging the ump to toss him. Can't remember the actual vid, but it was basically a show of "I'm going to stick up for my player but I agree with the umps on the call, so to save face I need the ump to throw me out." They went back and forth, doing the dance, and the ump finally just said "is that what you want? Fine, " and threw the manager out as a routine. I'd say that's probably the calmest one.

The umps need to either completely ignore criticism, or, just calmly and immediately eject them, and then ignore them. This was great.

With that said, from an entertainment perspective I like it when the umps and coaches get into it.
