There is pro's and con's to every platform - yes, the foxbody from factory is more of straight line vehicle but the engine swap and modified front suspension geometry made the car fun. Plus, you learned how to fix your car and it was cheap in the process.

Foxbodies are for drag/street racing they are light and hook it doesent take a lot of power to make them scream. 400whp Amd they are freaking monsters.

Actually foxbodys make awesome drift cars. There a few in az that blow 240s out of the water with stock bottom ends. Angle kits and all are out there and gaining momentum just gotta find the right stuff for how You drive....try building a 66 falcon to drift like I am about to

There’s a few people offering kits for these cars. Jon Duncan/Steve mass alone offer 3 kits in 3 stages. Stage 1, 2, and 3 which is a drift only, no street driving kit. Jon Duncan even offers a bolt on kit that costs under $500 that I installed on a friends car earlier this year, no cutting, welding or drilling. Then there’s scotti D who offers 2 kits, one is a bolt on affair the other is a cut and welded kit. There’s FDF and there’s drift knuckles. So there’s definitely more than one angle kit offered for these cars and one one of them is under $500.

Throw a turbo on it. Its carbed so literally all you need is a turbo, waste gate, some exhaust tubing and a fuel pump. Keep the timing low at 16° and rpm under 6000k and it should last a while.

People sleep really hard on the foxbody 5.0. It’s pretty easy to get 300-350 wheel with a nice cam, fuel, and carb upgrade and you can beat the piss out of them for a hundred thousand miles without opening her up again.
