Rice alumni discuss the global computer chip shortage at CHIPS for America roundtable

Sens. Steve Daines of Montana and John Cornyn of Texas were joined by Rice President David Leebron Sept. 17 at The Ion to discuss the need for investment in U.S. semiconductor research and manufacturing. The Cornyn-sponsored Creating Helpful Incentives to Produce Semiconductors (CHIPS) for America Act was included in the National Defense Authorization Act for fiscal year 2021.
