Mr. Wallace great video as always, ca you please answer one question for me ?. here is the scenario

let's assume that were talking about a layer 2 topology, I go and set the trust boundary at the access layer switch on the connected IP Phone interface for example interface GI1/0/1. I go and configure all the setting demonstrative here on this video. What configuration I most do on the trunk links connecting the two (2) switches access and distribution ?

here's what I think and please correct me if I wrong.

I think I don't have to do anything because when I set my trust boundary at the interface level and if a frame enter the switch from a Cisco IP Phone it trust the marking from it and add the value to the header and then carriers it to the distribution switch.

I understand that the markings get rewrite at layer 3 crossing from the distribution switch to the core or to the rest of the network, I'm just interested to know the configuration on the layer 2 up-link (802.1q) to from the access to the distribution switch.

Given the configuration used in this example. Would the DSCP of the voice traffic coming from the phone get changed from 46 to 40?

Hey Kevin, great video and explanation!
I was wondering... if I have a third party ip phone or a third party softphone installed on my computer and that device does not send cos or dscp marking. How would I set up QoS for its packets to take precedence?
Thank you very much!!
